President Mohamed Nasheed yesterday visited Kurinbee and Kumundhoo of Haa Dhaal atoll and met with the people of the two islands.
In both islands, the President briefed on government’s development projects in the islands and budget allocations for developmental projects in the islands.
The President informed that funds for a harbour development in Kurinbee were included in the 2011 budget, and said the government wanted the project to be managed by the local council to be elected in February.
In Kumundhoo, the President highlighted, among other matters, the progress achieved in providing affordable healthcare to the people. He said 220 people from Kumundhoo were insured under Madhana insurance scheme.
