The Non-resident Ambassador of Bhutan, His Excellency Mr. Sonam Tobden Rabgye presented his Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.

At the ceremony, the President congratulated Ambassador Rabgye on the commencement of his term and welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives.

During the call, the President conveyed his appreciation to the Government of Bhutan for the active role it has continued to play in promoting regional cooperation. Furthermore, the President also mentioned that the Maldives and Bhutan share common views and interests at the international fora and expressed his confidence in the cordial relations between the two countries and discussed on exploring new avenues of further cooperation.

The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Dr. Mohamed Asim, and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations, H.E Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
