Vice President Abdulla Jihad has said that this administration wishes to see the Maldivian people living in harmony in homes of their own, without having to pay rent. He made this remark while speaking at the function held this evening to inaugurate “The Apollo Towers” housing units in Hulhumalé, by local contractor Apollo Holdings.
Speaking at the function, the Vice President highlighted that facilitating ease of housing was one of the main electoral pledges of this administration, and noted that the administration was in fact accomplishing this pledge. He stated that the administration's huge investments on various development projects all over the country would not be worthwhile unless the Maldivian people live joyously, in peace.
Continuing in this regard, the Vice President appealed to everyone to be kind and helpful to one another, and to love and show mutual respect. He also pointed out that we were a very small number of people in comparison to other countries of the world, and said that the administration aims to see this small population live in unity.
