President Mohamed Nasheed has sent greetings to the people of the Maldives, on the occasion of the Hijri New Year. In his message to the people the President said:
“It gives me great pleasure to extend sincere greetings and good wishes to the beloved people of the Maldives on the happy occasion of the Hijri New Year”.
The message also stated that as we greet a new Hijri year, it was a great opportunity to strengthen the unity amongst us and that resolving issues between families as well as political parties will pave the way to our national progress.
President Nasheed has also sent New Year greetings to the leaders of friendly countries and heads of international organisations. He has also been receiving New Year greetings from them.
