The administration has today begun work to resume party talks, inclusive of all political parties, said the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee who will be representing the administration at the talks which were initiated by President Yameen. He stated this while speaking at a press conference held on Sunday afternoon at the President’s Office.

Dr. Shainee stated that the administration had met with delegates from the United Nations who are currently visiting Maldives on invitation from the President and that the role of the visiting delegates from the UN would be to hold dialogue with Political Parties, and relevant institutions, to create a conducive atmosphere to reconvene the all-party talks.

Moreover, the Minister said that he had briefed the UN delegates on the administration's perspective.

Additionally he highlighted that the administration had called for all-party talks without any preconditions and again urged all parties to work towards an agreement so that the government could maintain stability; and the President could focus on implementing his economic and social agenda.
