President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi, following the explosion at the Puttingal Temple in Kerala.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learned of the explosion during the Hindu New Year celebrations at the Puttingal Temple in Kerala, claiming many lives and injury to even more.”
“In the wake of this tragedy, the Government and the people of Maldives and I wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to you, the Government and the people of India and to those who are directly affected. Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
