The President has tasked the Ministry of Education with sponsoring the academic fees of students going abroad on sports scholarships.
Twelve students with outstanding sports abilities recently won scholarships to train under the guidance of the National Sports Association of Maldives via President Yameen's sports scholarship initiative
Two students, under the same program, have won the opportunity to study and enhance their sporting skills in Botswana.
The sports scholarship program is an ambitious effort targeted at developing skilled young Maldivian sportspeople with a well rounded education.
