The President’s Office has sent out invitations for the political party talks initiated by the current administration, to the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), Jumhooree Party (JP), Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and Adhaalath Party.
Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee, Minister of Defense and National Security Hon. Adam Shareef Umar and Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Ahmed Zuhoor will represent the current administrations at the meetings.
The President’s Office has requested each party for details of those who will act as representatives. The parties are also requested to send in issues to be presented for discussion.
At a ceremony held in Gaddhoo Island of South Huvadhoo Atoll today, to inaugurate the commencement of clean drinking water services in the island, President Yameen appealed for constructive work at the political party talks. The President also urged all parties to focus on contributing to strengthen administration policies and speeding up public services.
