Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that notable development has come to the construction field during the last two years. The Minister stated this while addressing the attendees of the function held to open “MACI Build and Home Expo 2015/2016” exhibition organized by Maldives Association of Construction Industry (MACI). The function was held on Wednesday morning at Dharubaaruge.
In his speech, Dr. Muizzu stated that this exhibition will illustrate the development that has come to the Maldivian construction industry. He also highlighted that a key covenant of President Yameen is to keep Male’ clean and green and that many steps are being taken to achieve this.
While addressing the guests of the function, the President of MACI, Mr. Mohamed Ali Janaah said that completion of China-Maldives Bridge would be an exemplary project to the countries of this region as the bridge will bring more development to the Maldives. Furthermore, he highlighted that currently, a large number of developmental projects are being carried out in the Maldives with the contribution of foreign investors.
This exhibition was inaugurated by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. During the ceremony the President was given a special award in recognition of his services to enhance the Maldivian construction industry. This award was presented by the President of MACI, Mr. Mohamed Ali Janaah. At this function, the President introduced “STO Readymix Cement”.
The function was attended by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Economic Development Hon. Mohamed Saeed, Members of the Cabinet, and senior officials of Government.
