President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has urged all Maldivian youth to be more productive and more involved in building the nation. The President made this statement while speaking at the function held this evening to celebrate T.C. Sports Club’s achievements in the year 2015. First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim also attended the function.
Speaking at the function, the President appealed to all the youth to refrain from being “thrown behind bars”. He pointed out that despite the President working with a youth agenda, and facilitating advancement for the youth, there were certain things that a President could and could not do within the legal system.
In his speech, President Yameen noted that the youth played the most prominent role in building the nation. He further encouraged all youth to participate in productive work and to be empowered.
