President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has assured the Maldivian people that investments into the Maldives will not halt due to a certain official not being in service to the Government. The President gave this assurance while addresing the nation this morning, regarding the current situation in the Maldives.
Referring to Vice Presidnet Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor being brought under police custody yesterday, on arrival from China, President Yameen stated that his Cabinet’s work did not depend on a particular individual. He said that the Maldives’ Presidency and Cabinet were fully capable in undertaking the Government’s endeavours.
In his address, the President expressed his sadness over the fact that a member of his team had to be dismissed from their duties. However the President underscored that it was not an irrevocable loss.
Addressing the nation today, President Yameen guaranteed that the Governmnet’s plans for the betterment of the youth, will also continue without interruption. He noted that the projects were oficially carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and said that there were no obstacles in carrying out these plans, which have already been budgeted accordingly.
