President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has on Saturday evening urged the people not to let outsiders interfere with our internal affairs, saying that the ultimate decision regarding any domestic matter must be of the Maldivian people. He also said that it is Maldivians who will be heedful of their own country, and that no foreign party will cross an ocean to come for our benefit. The President made these remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the second round of the symposium on training campaign leaders, “President Yameen 2018”.
Speaking at the ceremony held this evening, the President noted the high importance attached by the Government, to demonstrate to the world that we are a country that upholds the rule of law and the country’s constitution. He also stated that the Maldives has an established autonomous judiciary, which carries out all its duties independently.
President Yameen said that those who intended to serve the nation must be ready to, and make it their foremost duty to tackle the social problems, and any other challenges being faced in the community. In this regard, the President assured that his administration gave the highest priority to resolving the societal problems in the Maldives, and that he would not contradict the law, in performing his duties as President.
In his remarks this evening, the President said that the Government’s most important responsibility was to overcome the difficulties being faced by the people, facilitate better means of serving the Maldivian people, and improve the living standards of the people.
The closing ceremony of the second round of the symposium on training campaign leaders “President Yameen 2018” was attended by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim and Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor.
