Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor has on Sunday inaugurated the Red and Green Channel system at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).
Speaking at the ceremony held this afternoon, the Vice President noted that speedy service for the passengers arriving in the Maldives was a key factor in the economic progress of the country. He pointed out that in a country like the Maldives, where the economy was generally dependent on the service industry, speedier services for the tourists, especially at the airport, will definitely play a major role in the advancement of the economy.
In his speech, the Vice President underlined that airport development was one of the highest priorities of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, noting that it was pivotal in the growth of the country’s economy. He also said that the developmental changes brought to the airport by the Government would yield fruitful results for the Maldivian economy.
