Minister of Industries of Bangladesh, Amir Hossain Amu, has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
Noting the similarities between the Maldives and Bangladesh, the Vice President and the Bangladeshi Minister discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Vice President noted that a large number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers contributed to the development of the Maldives, and highlighted the efforts being taken by the Government in improving regulations to better facilitate expatriate workers.
Discussions were also held on ways the Government of Maldives and the Government of Bangladesh could collaborate more, especially in the areas of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, and fisheries.
The Vice President was accompanied at the meeting by Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Foreign Secretary, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
