At today’s Cabinet Meeting, President Mohamed Nasheed urged all government offices to fully comply with instructions from the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). The President said government wanted to extend full cooperation to all cases investigated by ACC.
The Cabinet also discussed development of five domestic airports handed over to Airports Investment Maldives Pvt Ltd (AIM). The Cabinet decided to open five islands for resort development as a joint-venture to parties who can develop the airports.
At today’s meeting, the Cabinet also decided to formulate policies on substituting islands and lagoons leased for tourism development and other industrial purposes.
The Cabinet noted the importance of government assistance to develop resorts and hotels already leased by the government.
