The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, His Excellency Nobuhito Hobo ‎has paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The ‎meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.‎

At the meeting, the President and the Ambassador highlighted bilateral ‎cooperation between the Maldives and Japan, and discussed ways of further ‎strengthening these relations. Discussions were also held on the ongoing ‎projects and future projects to be carried out in the Maldives, aided by the ‎Japanese Government.‎

At today’s meeting, President Yameen briefed the Japanese Ambassador on ‎the events being carried out in the Maldives, on the occasion of its golden ‎jubilee year of independence.‎

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya ‎Maumoon, Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain ‎Shareef, and Foreign Secretary, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.‎
