The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, His Excellency Nobuhito Hobo has paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, the President and the Ambassador highlighted bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and Japan, and discussed ways of further strengthening these relations. Discussions were also held on the ongoing projects and future projects to be carried out in the Maldives, aided by the Japanese Government.
At today’s meeting, President Yameen briefed the Japanese Ambassador on the events being carried out in the Maldives, on the occasion of its golden jubilee year of independence.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Foreign Secretary, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
