President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, His Excellency Mariano Rajoy Brey, following the tragic crash of Germanwings flight 4U 9525, resulting in the loss of life of all passengers and crew on board, including a number of Spanish citizens.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic crash of Germanwings flight 4U 9525, resulting in the loss of life of all passengers and crew on board, including a number of Spanish citizens.”
“At this time of great national tragedy and grief, I wish to extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and on my own behalf, our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Spain, and, in particular, to those who were directly affected by the tragedy.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
