President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has conferred Nishaan Muleege ‎Sharafge Izzaiy on Philanthropist, Mr. Mahmoud Fatah Ali Abdulla Al ‎Khajeh of the United Arab Emirates. The award was presented at a ceremony ‎held this afternoon at the President’s Office.‎

Nishaan Muleege Sharafge Izzaiy (Order of Distinguished Rule of Muleege) ‎was created in honour of Al-Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen and is one of the ‎high ranking honours conferred by the State.‎

The medal was conferred upon Mr. Khajeh in recognition of his generous and ‎sincere contributions towards the betterment of the Maldivian people, ‎particularly his active role in supporting the efforts to uplift the livelihoods ‎of the disadvantaged people of the Maldives. ‎

Speaking at the ceremony, ‎President Yameen expressed his sincere ‎appreciation to Mr. Khajeh and his family for the close cooperation and ‎generous assistance provided to the Government and the people of the ‎Maldives.‎

Mr. Khajeh thanked the Government and the people of the Maldives for ‎awarding him the prestigious award and said he considered the award a great ‎honour for himself, and his family. He also assured the President of his ‎commitment to supporting and assisting the brotherly people of the ‎Maldives.‎
