President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has conferred Nishaan Muleege Sharafge Izzaiy on Philanthropist, Mr. Mahmoud Fatah Ali Abdulla Al Khajeh of the United Arab Emirates. The award was presented at a ceremony held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
Nishaan Muleege Sharafge Izzaiy (Order of Distinguished Rule of Muleege) was created in honour of Al-Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen and is one of the high ranking honours conferred by the State.
The medal was conferred upon Mr. Khajeh in recognition of his generous and sincere contributions towards the betterment of the Maldivian people, particularly his active role in supporting the efforts to uplift the livelihoods of the disadvantaged people of the Maldives.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Yameen expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Khajeh and his family for the close cooperation and generous assistance provided to the Government and the people of the Maldives.
Mr. Khajeh thanked the Government and the people of the Maldives for awarding him the prestigious award and said he considered the award a great honour for himself, and his family. He also assured the President of his commitment to supporting and assisting the brotherly people of the Maldives.
