President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ‎to Pakistani Prime Minister, H.E. Nawaz Sharif, following the tragic accident between an oil tanker and a passenger bus, in Southern Pakistan.

The President’s message reads as follows:‎

“It is with sorrow and dismay that I learnt of the tragic incident of an oil tanker crashing into a passenger bus in southern Pakistan, causing the loss of 57 innocent lives and injury to more.”

“At this time of tragedy, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the brotherly people of Pakistan, particularly the families of the bereaved, and offer prayers to those who have been injured in this catastrophe. I commend the tenacity of the Pakistani people in the face of such tragedy.”

“The Government and the people of the Maldives stand in solidarity with you, and the people of Pakistan, in coming to terms with this tragedy.”
