President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has announced the Government’s decision to increase teachers’ salaries by more than one third of their existing salaries, starting from the 2015 academic year. The President made this announcement while speaking at the function held Tuesday evening, to commence the professionalization of athletes in the senior national squads, as part of the Government’s electoral pledge.
Speaking at the function, the President commended the hard work put in by the Ministry of Education and the Teachers’ Association over the past years, to resolve the matter.
