President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect of Tunisia, His Excellency Mr. Beji Caïd Essebsi, following his recent victory in the presidential elections.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Maldives and on my own behalf, I extend to you warm congratulations and sincere good wishes on your election as President of Tunisia.”
“I am confident that the close fraternal ties that exist between our two countries will continue to strengthen in the coming years, under your stewardship. The Maldives stands shoulder to shoulder with the Tunisian people as they pursue their aspirations to consolidate their democratic rights and enter a new era of optimism.”
“Please accept, Your Excellency, my sincere wishes for your good health and wellbeing, and the assurances of my highest consideration.”
