The Executive Vice President and Executive Officer of Asia Pacific ‎of Hitachi Ltd, Mr. Junzo Najazima, has announced of its plan to donate ‎one million Maldivian rufiyaa to Male’ Water Crisis Management Fund. ‎The announcement was made at a meeting held with President ‎Abdulla ‎Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Monday morning at the President’s Office.‎

Mr. Junzo is visiting the Maldives as part of the Hitachi expert ‎team, to inspect the damages caused to the generator units during ‎the fire ‎that broke out at the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) on ‎‎4th December 2014.‎

Discussions at the meeting were focused on the recovery efforts of ‎‎being undertaken by MWSC ‎to replace the damaged panel boards and ‎revive the water system. In this regard, President Yameen underscored the ‎‎Government’s commitment to find a total solution to the issue, and to ‎establish a fallback system for future emergencies.‎

Speaking at the meeting, President Yameen extended his ‎‎appreciation to the Hitachi Company for their generous ‎contributions ‎towards the Fund. The President also expressed his gratitude, to the ‎Government and people of Japan, for their continued support and ‎assistance to the Maldives in times of need.‎
President Yameen was joined at the call by Minister of Foreign ‎Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, and the Minister of Defence and National ‎Security, Col (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim. ‎

Mr. Junzo was joined at the call by the Ambassador of Japan to the ‎Maldives, Mr. Nobuhito Hobo.‎
