President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that the Government will support all young job-seekers to secure employment. The President made this remark while speaking at the official function held on Monday evening to mark the National Youth Day.
In his speech, President Yameen emphasized that the youth were a source of immense national pride, and asserted that young Maldivians were the key to unlocking the country’s developmental potential.
Highlighting the struggles faced by youth worldwide, the President stated that his Government would work vigorously against youth homelessness and unemployment in the Maldives. President Yameen further avowed to undertake all efforts to protect and promote the welfare of the nation’s youth.
Emphasizing the value of rehabilitation, the President stated that the Government would expand support to the youth in a manner which ensures that all young Maldivians have equal opportunities to help the county succeed. In this regard, President Yameen further stated that the Government would devote a large portion of the national budget towards ensuring that the Maldivian youth have access to the facilities and services required to unleash their huge potentials.
