Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has expressed his confidence that the close and friendly relations existing between India and the Maldives would deepen and expand in the coming years. The Indian Prime Minister made this comment in his message to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, sent on the occasion of the Republic Day of the Maldives.
In his message, the Indian Prime Minister has, on behalf of the Government and the people of India, conveyed greetings to President Yameen and the people of Maldives.
Prime Minister Modi has also noted that November 2014 marked the commencement of the 50th year of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Maldives.
