President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended greetings to the people of the Maldives, Hajj pilgrims and to ‎the Islamic ummah on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Al’haa.‎

In his message, the President noted that Eid ul-Al’haa ‎was an occasion to strengthen unity and solidarity, by cooperating with each other and ‎showing compassion to one another.‎ Highlighting that Hajj pilgrimage encourages the establishment of ‎harmonious familial and brotherly relations amongst us, President Yameen noted that it also teaches the important virtues of sacrifice.

In his message, President Yameen called upon the people to prioritize ‎national interest in their endevours. Continuing in this regard, the President underscored the importance of advancing social harmony, peace and unity amongst the people.

On the occasion of Eid ul-Al’haa, President Yameen sent Eid greetings to the Leaders of Islamic countries and to the Heads of Islamic organisations. The President has been receiving greetings from them as well.
