President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended greetings to the people of the Maldives, Hajj pilgrims and to the Islamic ummah on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Al’haa.
In his message, the President noted that Eid ul-Al’haa was an occasion to strengthen unity and solidarity, by cooperating with each other and showing compassion to one another. Highlighting that Hajj pilgrimage encourages the establishment of harmonious familial and brotherly relations amongst us, President Yameen noted that it also teaches the important virtues of sacrifice.
In his message, President Yameen called upon the people to prioritize national interest in their endevours. Continuing in this regard, the President underscored the importance of advancing social harmony, peace and unity amongst the people.
On the occasion of Eid ul-Al’haa, President Yameen sent Eid greetings to the Leaders of Islamic countries and to the Heads of Islamic organisations. The President has been receiving greetings from them as well.
