President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have hosted a State banquet in honour of the visiting President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping and First Lady, Madam Peng Liyuan. The banquet was held this evening at Kurumba Maldives.
The Chinese President and First Lady were greeted on arrival at the Kurumba Maldives VIP lounge, by President Yameen and Madam Fathimath Ibrahim. The national anthems of Maldives and China were played at the banquet.
The banquet was attended by Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and Former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan. Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, Chief Justice, Uz. Ahmed Faiz Hussain, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Parliament, and foreign diplomats were also in attendance at the function, along with the members of the Chinese delegation.
