President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has on Wednesday evening announced that the land reclamation project of the densely populated Feydhoo in Addu City will commence next year. The President made this announcement while speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the road construction of Feydhoo’s ‘Rahdhebai Magu’ and harbor area.
In his speech, President Yameen noted that the road construction of Feydhoo’s ‘Rahdhebai Magu’will greatly assist the island’s residents, while paving the way for further development projects in Feydhoo.
Commenting on the challenges faced in Addu City, the President noted that while he is responsible for overseeing the government’s development agenda, the delegation of developmental efforts to appropriate government agencies is imperative in a modern democracy.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, and Member of the Parliament for Feydhoo constituency, Mr. Ibrahim Didi.
