Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed attended the prize giving ceremony of Madhrasathul Ahmadiyya. The ceremony was held last evening at Thajuddin School.

Speaking at the function, Vice President Dr Waheed said the main purpose of education was to create responsible and productive citizens. He said, therefore, it was important to create jobs for school leavers.

Calling for greater collaboration between schools and private companies as well as private organizations, the Vice President stressed the importance of career counselling.

At the ceremony, Dr Waheed presented awards and prizes Safa Abdul Gayyom who won the best-all-round student award.
