President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Joko Widodo, following his recent victory in the presidential elections.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I would like to extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and my own name, heartfelt congratulations on your historic victory in the recent presidential elections of the Republic of Indonesia. I am confident that the friendly relations that exist between our two countries will continue to strengthen in the coming years, under your stewardship.”
“Please accept, Excellency, my sincere wishes for your good health and well-being, and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Indonesia.”
