In a Directive issued by the President’s Office today, it has been announced that Thursday, 31st July, will be confirmed as a public holiday, if Monday, 28th July is determined as this year’s Eid ul-Fitr. However, if Eid ul-Fitr falls on Tuesday, 29th July, then Monday, 28th July will be declared as a public holiday. This decision was made by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to extend the Eid holidays.
Government offices will reopen on Sunday, 3rd August.
