President Nasheed has today visited Madifuhi of Kolhumadulu Atoll and met with the people. Reflecting on the difficulties faced by the people of Madifushi, the President announced that the reconstruction work of those homes that had been affected by the tsunami, which have not yet been completed, would soon begin. Further, the President said that under the government’s housing programme, construction work of fifty houses in Madifushi would begin in the next 3 months.
The President also announced that the government planned to present a fishing vessel to the people of Madifushi and called on the people to work together to get full benefit from the vessel. He also assured the people that the government would resolve the problem of shortage of teachers in the island.
