Chaired by Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, the recently assembled Higher Education Council has today held its first meeting, at the President’s Office. The main topic of discussion at the meeting was the mandate of the Council.
Additional issues discussed at the meeting include the formulation of a legal framework to guide higher education in the Maldives, the rules governing the establishment and running of universities in the Maldives, and avenues to further the opportunities available to Maldivian students.
