Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has presented a commemorative plaque to Mr. Mukhthar Naseer, on behalf of the Government, in recognition of his outstanding services as a member of the Maldives National Football Team. Mr. Mukhthar Naseer has played for the Maldives National Football Team since 2007, and is particularly famous for scoring the winning goal for the Maldives in the 2008 SAFF Championship.
At the award ceremony held today at the President’s Office, the Vice President noted that the Government will remain appreciative of the contributions of the Maldives National Football Team, and expressed his hope that Mr. Naseer continues to serve the country’s sports sector.
Mr. Mukhthar Naseer expressed his gratitude to the Vice President and the Government for recognizing the contributions of sportsmen in the Maldives. He further stated that he will seek to nurture the development of young football players in the country.
Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mohamed Maleeh Jamal, Vice President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Mr. Abdul Muhusin Hameed, the Director of the Maldives National Team Mr. Ali Suzain, Director of Atoll Football Mr. Ahmed Mujthaba, and Media Coordinator at FAM Mr. Hussain Jawaaz were also present at the ceremony.
