President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has offered encouragement to the National Football Team, ahead of their first match in this year’s AFC Challenge Cup.
During a telephone conversation this afternoon, with the captain of the Maldives’ team Ali Ashfaq, the President conveyed his sincere well wishes to the players, coach and the officials. The President assured his support for the team, as well as that of all Maldivians. He urged the team to take the field with confidence and determination to win every match.
The Maldives will meet Myanmar this evening, in their first match in the AFC Challenge Cup.
