President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to President Choummaly Sayasone of Loas, following the passing away of Defence Minister and senior officials of the Government, in a fatal plane crash.
The President’s message read as follows;
“It was with deep sadness that I learnt of the passing away of Defence Minister Douangchay Phichit and senior officials of your Government, in a fatal plane crash on 17th May 2014.”
“At this time of grief, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending sincere condolences to you, the Government of Laos and the friendly people.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
