President Mohamed Nasheed has sent Independence Day greetings to Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
In two separate letters sent to President Patil and Prime Minister Singh, President Nasheed extended warm greetings and good wishes on the occasion of India’s Independence Day to the President, the Prime Minister, the government and the people of India.
The President also expressed his confidence that close bilateral relations between the Maldives and India would continue to strengthen in the coming years.
In his letter to the Prime Minister Singh, the President also extended appreciation of the people and the government of the Maldives for the prompt responses from Indian government whenever the Maldives sought assistance.
