The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Mr. Yoshitaka ‎Shindo ‎ has paid a courtesy call on President Abdullah Yameen Abdul ‎Gayoom. The meeting was held this afternoon at the hotel in which the ‎Maldivian President is residing at during his official visit to Japan.‎

At the meeting, the President and Minister Shindo discussed ways to enhance ‎the long existing bilateral relations between the two countries.‎

In this regard, President Yameen and Minister Shindo underscored the ‎importance of opening a Japanese Embassy in the Maldives to further ‎strengthen Japan-Maldives relations. ‎

The President further assured Minister Shindo of his Government’s full ‎support and cooperation in the opening of a Japanese Embassy in the ‎Maldives.

‎At the meeting, President Yameen briefed Minister Shindo on key ‎developmental projects of the Government.‎
