The new UAE Ambassador accredited to the Maldives, Mr. Abdul ‎Hamid A.K. Al Mulla presented his letter of credence to President Abdulla ‎Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning.‎

At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the ‎credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Mulla on the ‎commencement of his term. ‎

Meeting the new Ambassador after the ceremonial presentation of ‎credentials, President Yameen expressed hope that the close bilateral ‎relations that exist between the two countries would further enhance during ‎the tenure of Ambassador Mulla.‎

Highlighting that economic transformation was on top of his ‎‎Government’s agenda, President Yameen explored possibilities of ‎increasing UAE investments in the Maldives, especially in areas of trade ‎and infrastructural development projects of the country.‎

Underscoring the long standing bilateral relations between the UAE ‎and the Maldives, Ambassador Mulla said that the countries have been ‎always supportive of each other. ‎

Continuing in this regard, Ambassador Mulla further reassured ‎President Yameen of UAE’s ‎continuous support and cooperation to the ‎Maldives.‎
