World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Ms Naoko Ishii has paid a farewell call on President Mohamed Nasheed at the President’s Office this afternoon.
President Nasheed thanked Ms Ishii for his tremendous assistance to the country.
Ms Ishii gave the assurance that the World Bank would continue with the good relationship and provide the needed assistance to the Maldives.
At the meeting, the President and Ms Ishii discussed other issues such as climate change and its impact on the country’s economy.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed and Minister of Finance and Treasury Mr Ali Hashim.
