President Mohamed Nasheed has today ratified the Anti-Social Behaviour bill, which was passed by the People’s Majlis on 14 July 2010.
Following ratification, the bill has been published in the Government Gazette.
The Act seeks to tackle anti-social behaviour by introducing a range of enforcement measures.
The Act aims to achieve the following objectives:
(a) Prevent anti-social behaviour
(b) Identify measures that can be taken against anti-social behaviour
(c) Empower authorities working against anti-social behaviour
(d) Parental responsibilities to prevent anti-social behaviour
