President appoints Commissioner
General of Taxation, Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation and Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA)

As per Article 4(e) of Law no 3/2010 (Tax Administration Act), President Mohamed Nasheed has appointed Commissioner General of Taxation, Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation and Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.

Letters of appointment were presented to them at a function held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Mr Yazeedh Mohamed was appointed as Commissioner General of Taxation, while Mr Hassan Zareer was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.

Members appointed to the Board of Directors of MIRA are:

- Mr Abbas Adhil Riza
- Mr Hassan Waheed
- Mr Ahmed Mohamed
- Ms Aishth Lulua Hassan
- Uz Hussain Siraj

Speaking at the function, President Nasheed said the nominations were made based on the educational and professional qualifications of the persons, and expressed confidence that they would effectively fulfil their responsibilities.
