President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has has sent a message of sympathy to Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, following the deadly train fire incident in southern India.
The President’s message reads as follows.
“I am shocked and distressed to learn about the deadly fire on a train in southern India, causing tragic loss of lives and serious injury to many.”
“At this time of distress, the Government and the people of the Maldives extend our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of India, and in particular, to those who were directly affected by this tragedy.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
