Upper South Utilities Limited has signed an agreement with UEM Group of United States to establish water and sewerage systems in Upper South Province.
At a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning, Managing Director Mr Ahmed Saeed Mohamed signed on behalf of Upper South Utilities Limited, while President of UEM Mr Krishnan Shetry signed on behalf of UEM Group.
Under the agreement UEM is to establish sewerage systems in 15 islands and water systems in 17 islands of the province.
UEM Group is an international multi-disciplined company specializing in providing Design & Turnkey Execution services in the field of Water & Wastewater Collection, Treatment and Disposal.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Upper South Utilities Limited Ahmed Shareef Nafees said this project would increase jobs and stimulate social and economic development in the province.
