President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that his administration has yesterday begun the implementation of PPM manifesto as well as the manifestos of coalition parties. He made the statement after his meeting with PPM’s president and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.

President Yameen said the government was working on securing funds for the various projects outlined in the manifesto. He added efforts were also underway to minimize government expenditure.

The purpose of President Gayooms’s meeting with President Yameen and Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed was to assure them of his full support in providing basic services to the people, as well as in securing the necessary political cooperation of parliament members of PPM and coalition parties.

Speaking after the meeting, President Gayoom said the implementation of the manifesto was a top priority of PPM and that he was confident that the government would implement the manifesto. He also expressed confidence that the new government would provide quality services to the people and would not let the people down.
