Following discussions on the projected State budget for 2014, the Cabinet has today decided to present it to the Parliament. At today’s meeting of the cabinet, Minister of Finance and Treasury Abdulla Jihad briefed members on the key areas of focus, in the preparation of the 2014 State budget.
At today’s meeting, members stressed that the uncontrolled expansion of budget deficit over the years has led to major external imbalance. Members also spoke on the importance of finding additional means of income, noting the rise of State expenses in the recent years.
