President Dr Mohamed Waheed has conveyed greetings and best wishes to all youth of the Maldives, on the occasion of this year’s International Youth Day.

In his message, the President noted the imperative contribution made by youth to national development. He has also said that it was important to listen to their voices, and that the youth’s opinions and deliberations were especially vital in establishing national development strategies.

Highlighting the theme of this year’s International Youth Day, Youth Migration: Moving Development Forward, the President stressed the need for capable and educated youth, for the country to move forward on the road to development.

In his message, President Waheed has said that, for us to move forward with the country, we need youth participation in all areas. In this regard, the President has called upon everyone to pay special attention to create skilled youth, and to provide them employment opportunities.

The President has also urged all youth to develop their skills, to have good conduct, and to make themselves beneficial to the society.
