Dr Poonam Khetrapal, Former Deputy Regional Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO), South East Asian Regional Office (SEARO) and Government of India’s nominee for the post of SEARO Regional Director, has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
During the meeting held at the President’s office this morning, President Waheed and Dr Khetrapal discussed the challenges faced in the health sector of the Maldives. In this regard, President Waheed briefed Dr Khetrapal on the measures underway to develop and strengthen the Maldives’ health sector.
President expressed gratitude for the contribution made, and support and cooperation received from WHO towards the development of the sector.
Dr Khetrapal reassured of WHO’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
