New High Commissioner of Canada accredited to the Maldives, Shelly Whiting presented her letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Waheed congratulated High Commissioner Whiting.
The President and the High Commissioner discussed bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen ties.
President Waheed and High Commissioner Whiting further deliberated on the current political situation of the country and the preparations for this year’s presidential elections.
High Commissioner Whiting reassured of Canada’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
