President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with the Deputy Chief of Staff of East Sea Fleet of China’s hospital ship Peace Ark, Major General Shen Hao. The meeting was held today at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, President Waheed expressed his gratitude to all the crew members on China’s ship for their visit, and the medical services being provided to the Maldivian people. He especially thanked the medical assistance being extended for the island communities. The President noted that this would further strengthen bilateral ties between the Maldives and China.
Major General Shen Hao thanked the President for the hospitality offered by the Maldivian government and the military. He also briefed the President on the missions of Peace Ark. In this regard, Major General Hao said that the main mission of Peace Ark was to spread friendship among other countries, and to provide high quality services with sincerity.
