During his on-going visit to Palestine, President Dr Mohamed Waheed, on Wednesday, visited Birzeit University.
During his visit to the University, President met with students and officials of the University.
He briefed the students on the effect of climate change on the development of the Maldives and the measures the government was taking to combat climate change.
He also discussed with the students, the democratic changes that the Maldives was undergoing and the efforts of the government to strengthen and consolidate democracy in the Maldives.
Birzeit University is a private university located in Birzeit, near Ramallah. It was the first institution of higher education to be established in Palestine.
